Idioms play a very important part in English. Native speakers often use them, so it's important to learn some of them too. I‘ll try to post some daily use idioms to this forum once in a while, so that we can learn idioms together!
成 语 在 英 语 里 是 非 常 重 要 的 。 说 英 语 的 人 经 常使 用谚 语 ， 所 以
学 谚 语也 蛮 重 要 的 。
我 会 尝 试 在 这 里 贴 上 几 句 常 用 的 谚 语 ， 让 我 们 大 家 一 起 学 习 吧 。
1) It's raining cats and dogs (下 着 猫 和 狗 )
Examples:
"The weather was horrible on Saturday.
It was raining cats and dogs all day."
“星 期 六 的 天 气 糟 透 了 ， 整 天 都 下着 猫 和 狗 ”
基 本 上 raining cats and dogs 的 意 思 是 形 容 雨 下 得 很 大 。
“所 以 应 该 解 释 为 ： 星 期 六 的 天 气 糟 透 了 ， 整 天 雨 都 下 得 很 大”
2) It's not my cup of tea (不 是 我 的 茶 )
"David, would you like to go ice-skating tomorrow evening
with me?" asked Mary.
“大 卫 ， 明 天 下 午 要 和 我 一 起 去 溜 冰 吗 ？ ”玛 丽 问
"To be honest, Mary, ice-skating's not really my cup of tea.
Would you like to go to the cinema instead?"
“玛 丽 ， 老 实 说 ， 溜 冰 不 是 我 的 茶 。 或 者 你 要 和 我 去 看 电 影 如 何 ？ ”
It's not my cup of tea = I don't like it
不 是 我 的 茶 = 我 不 喜 欢
It's not really my cup of tea = I don't like it very much
不 完 全 是 我 的 茶 = 我 不 是 很 喜 欢 。 。
基 本 上 NOT MY CUP OF TEA 可 以 在 以 下 情 况 使 用 。 。
比 如 ， 友 人 说 某 某 男 生 适 合 我 ， 我 就 会 回 应 说 ： “哈 。 。 I‘M SORRY。 。 HE’S NOT MY CUP OF TEA”
意 思 是 说 他 不 是 我 要 的 那 一 类 型 。 。
